I'm sick of this yaoi bullshit. I'm sick of all these girly guys. I'm sick of people pretty much making chick characters and slapping a wang on them. That ain't how this shit works.
I just want dudes to be dudes, and be bros. Bromance makes me happy. Unbelievably happy.
Let me have my bromance. Keep your fantasies and 'pairings' to yourself.
EDIT: Apparently yaoi fans are getting butt hurt over this. To explain...I am not against homosexuality. I am not against gay marriage. I am not against gay acts portrayed in anything in anyway, it's quite the opposite. But, I AM against people blindly pairing two characters together. "What, these two guys are friends? Well, they must want to make out and have sex then, obviously!"
Also. Don't just comment on this stamp, get pissed off because I don't agree with you, and block and run. You are a pussy and need to grow thicker skin. Different strokes for different folks. So shut the fuck up and stop being such babies about it.
Well, okay, maybe nasty would be a better word for it. Putting every relationship in the same category is just a big NO for me. Not to mention I have never understood why people need to think that friends are like siblings. They aren't, especially if they meet in their teens/adulthood.
I don't like the word romance either but even less this. It's just...ugly. "Uga we are so manry you guys."
wait what does bromance mean to you? i see it as a silly word to use for dudes who are friends and are just super open/adorable/hilarious about it. but i'm really not one to argue semantics, it can get so long winded ;n;
I remember I once saw a video about gay-bullying. It was on youtube, and the uploader didn't make it clear enough that it was about that. Only mentioned it in the description, and it's a well-known fact a lot of people don't read them. I don't remember clearly what happened in the video, I quess the two boys were holding hands or the other one was resting his head on the other one's shoulder. Anyway, to someone's comment people responded things like; "What is wrong with you they are not gay, it's just bromance", "Wow you guys are so delusional, being gay is bad but this is just normal bromance" "It's not gay, sad how people have to make conclusions like that!"
Bromance leaves a bad taste in my mouth. "We are definetely not gay, (or they) god no. We(They) are manly and normal."
I used to have this guy friend, and even though we never touched each other ( at least not when other people saw us) and everyone thought I was his girlfriend. Even though I didn't even spend that much time with him, hardly ever outside school. One time we were walking on the city and his friends saw us, and assumed I was his girlfriend. This happens way more to a girl and a guy.
I have also been mistaken for my female friend's girlfriend. I don't mind either. Why would I? It shouldn't be horrible to be mistaken for something that is not bad. Not to mention fictional couples. A lot of popular fandoms creators even set more fuel to the fire.
Also I would like to link this that I just read a while a go [link]
Another reason is because I have never liked categorizing relationships. Every relationship is different. Romance, bromance, fuck those terms (well okay romance has more meanings than that). I like to think the term 'friend' for EVERYONE you consider worthy, everyone you care. Family also. It's a term I can accept. But not bromance.
Though this is just my personal opinion. And I'm not really happy with how I explained my thoughts, because I didn't explain them well enough. But I hope that link did it better.
you're looking at the word a lot more seriously than I do. this stamp was a joking stab at all of the people who immediately romanticize platonic relationships between two men/boys/males and immediately make them kiss and have sex and be boyfriends. what you're getting at is a problem that goes waaaaay past a simple silly word like 'bromance'(and getting annoyed at titles is kind of exhausting since people are always going to give things titles...they're kind of essential). but, like with all words created from pop culture bromance has been overused, skewed, and butchered to the point of (apparently) becoming a negative if not insulting thing to say. and again this stamp was made years ago when the word first started being used and was way more upbeat and silly and less srs and social-justiced way too hard by the internets.
tl;dr most of the things i make and do are meant to be comical and silly.
always keep in mind the DATE on submissions while on this site. especially for pop culture related things like memes and random words popularized by the internet (which again destroys everything and makes everything not funny after a very short period. as an example i rarely use bromance anymore in everyday conversation but I still get to read everyone's opinion on the outdated word thanks to this stamp I made three years ago)
That's why I explained what the word means to ME, and why I dislike it. I wouldn't if I haven't been asked. Also I simply dislike it as a word. It sounds stupid. There are other words, like snugglefuck, that I also can't stand.
